What happens next
The violation stays open until the condition is corrected and HPD closes it. Failing to certify a correction exposes the owner to civil penalties if HPD takes the case to Housing Court.
What to do
Correct the condition. Once the certify-by date has passed, HPD's route is a Dismissal Request, an application with a fee that asks HPD to reinspect the violation. If a building has many of these, start with the oldest hazardous ones.

Does Not Complied With mean the deadline passed?
No. It records a reinspection, not a date: HPD defines it as a reinspection that found the condition still there. A violation nobody has reinspected cannot carry it.
Can I still certify after the date?
HPD's status list calls a certification submitted after the date not acceptable, and records it as NOV Certified Late. HPD's route after a missed date is a Dismissal Request, an application with a fee that asks HPD to reinspect.
