HPD still marks almost every violation with this status open, so it keeps counting as open. HPD's route for a violation not certified on time is a Dismissal Request: an application with a fee, and HPD may reinspect the violation before it dismisses it.
What to do
Correct the condition, then file a Dismissal Request. Read the application in full first: HPD says new violations may be issued during the reinspection. Since July 1, 2026, HPD takes these at its Central Violations Administration Unit, 345 Adams Street, 10th Floor, Brooklyn.
